Grade 8 Social Studies A launches a full-year United States history and civics sequence from the Revolution through Reconstruction. Students use documents, maps, timelines, images, data, and evidence-based explanations to study founding ideals, rights, federalism, expansion, slavery, war, and Reconstruction.
Grade 8 Social Studies B continues the Grade 8 United States history and civics sequence through expansion, reform, sectional conflict, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. Students use primary and secondary sources, maps, data, and civic reasoning to explain change, conflict, rights, and unresolved questions in U.S. history.
